4/6 – Meshach Jackson

Bay Area-based and Bayou-reared Meshach Jackson delivers his soulful lyrics with an emotional intensity that can only come from someone who was raised on equal parts gospel and grunge. Meshach draws the audience in with his emotionally raw, intimately truthful lyrics and impassioned stage presence. Having shared the stage with diverse acts such as Switchfoot, Damien Rice, Mute Math, and Earth Wind & Fire, Meshach’s original work follows in this trend. He draws influence from everything from Delta Blues artists of the 1930s and 1940s to Tom Waits and Jack White; Bjork to Beck; Radiohead to Bonnie Raitt. Inspired by the authentic and searching for the heart of American music, Meshach’s work is largely influenced by his childhood as the son of a southern preacher who ran a boys home for troubled teens; becoming an ordained minister himself at the age of 18; leaving the ministry to pursue a career as a songwriter at 21

4/13 – Spencer James Blues

The Spencer James Band is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Backed by a collection of seasoned and skilled musicians, the band is fronted by Spencer James, a 22 year old guitar player, singer, and blues fanatic. The unusual and interesting thing about their shows is the set lists. In addition to their originals and a few early Rock 'n' Roll standards, they play a variety of blues from the early 20th century, getting to the roots of American music.

Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, JJ Cale, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Dr. John and Pat Methany to name a few. Often times, they redevelop the songs with different tempos, lyrics, and feelings to fit whatever moves them. They believe it is essential to keep the music feeling fresh and inspired. They leave room to improvise on the spot, letting them showcase their love for the music, their experience, and their feeling in the moment. You may never see them play the same song the exact same way twice! It's a remix and a mash up of great Blues and Rock 'n' Roll that will move the audience, played in a passionate, open, and live setting.

4/20 – Jinx Jones and the Kingtones

In Jinx Jones’ impressive musical career he has visited nearly every conceivable style and genre of the electric guitar. From his work with R&B divas, En Vogue to his own acclaimed rockabilly albums, “License to Twang,” and the latest release; “Rumble & Twang,” Jones has always strived to expand the possibilities of the instrument. He accepts every musical challenge head on, always making an impressive statement with his music. The one thing that remains consistent throughout Jones’ multi-stylistic journey is the grace and finesse of his virtuoso playing. Jinx Jones has lent his guitar-playing prowess to many artists and groups during his career including Chuck Berry, Solomon Burke, Roy Buchanan, Tom Slick and others. Throughout his career Jinx regularly received enthusiastic reviews in guitar magazines and publications featuring guitarists whose players and virtuosos dive deep into the sounds of roots, rockabilly, and honky tonk.

“Jinx Jones has some exceptionally fast, clean licks and he can even pull a few of the clichéd guitar tricks out of his hat, like playing behind his head and with his teeth.” --LA Music Connection,
